A Bolt from the Blue (Bennett Sisters Mysteries Book 9)

Paris wasn't supposed to be deadly. Francie Bennett, hard-charging attorney and next-to-youngest of the Bennett Sisters, jets to Paris to help her boyfriend Dylan Hardy with what should be a simple estate case. Simple? Not in France. Their client, Axelle Fourcier, fled Paris after the 1968 student riots and swore never to return. Fifty years later, a 104-year-old aunt's death forces her back to claim a stunning Belle Époque apartment packed with vintage pop art—and shared with a slick cousin she never knew existed. What starts as an inheritance squabble turns sinister when the apartment is ransacked and a friend turns up murdered. Axelle's convinced the French state is conspiring against her. She might not be paranoid. Francie juggles her difficult client, her complicated new relationship, Dylan's nine-year-old daughter, and a legal mess spiraling into deadly territory. Between Paris and the Dordogne, someone wants Axelle's inheritance badly enough to kill for it. International intrigue. French legal battles. Murder in a Belle Époque apartment. And secrets buried since 1968.
