Before the Tides Turn (Driftwood Harbor Bookshop Mysteries Book 1)

Ellie Rose Callahan never expected to start over at fifty-five. After her husband disappears—along with their savings—Ellie returns home to Driftwood Harbor to reopen her grandfather’s beloved bookstore and begin again. Waiting for her are Caroline, her childhood best friend, and Landon Parker, her former high school boyfriend who just happens to be the town’s police detective. Then there’s Augustus Waverly, her grandfather’s best friend, who died in the bookstore years ago and seems in no particular hurry to move on. Ellie quickly realizes Landon is a top-notch detective. What surprises her is that she might be better. When a local teenager disappears and becomes the prime suspect in her teacher’s murder, Ellie starts asking questions. Landon may not want her help, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need it. Welcome to Driftwood Harbor, where old friends, old secrets, and second chances are waiting for you.
