Available for 4 days. Available until 10/19/2026.
Garrett Vane has a letter of acceptance to the Valorian Academy, three gold coins toward a two-hundred-gold enrollment fee, and a dwarf he didn't ask for who has decided the life debt he owes belongs to Garrett now.
The dwarf is non-negotiable. The Academy fees require contracts. The contracts require a party. The party requires an archer, which is how Senna Ashveil — precise, private, and working from a contract that says three months minimum — ends up walking east toward an abandoned dwarven mine.
The mine has goblins. The goblins are manageable.
The nest in the lower level is something else entirely.
Trip is not a pet. Trip is not a familiar. Trip is, according to the Guild's most recent paperwork, a Domestic Mimic — formerly designated AAAARRGH — who has decided that Garrett's backpack is home and that the people who came with the backpack are his. He weighs approximately nothing. He has one purple eye, strong opinions, and has eaten things that would concern a reasonable person.
He is also, on at least three documented occasions, the reason the party came home at all.
Getting to the Academy was supposed to be the hard part.
It turns out the hard part is everything after you decide to go.
