Saddled With Trouble (The Michaela Bancroft Mystery Series Book 1)

At this stable, the horses are safe. The humans aren't. Already drowning in a bitter divorce and fighting to save her ranch from creditors, horse trainer Michaela Bancroft is no stranger to hard times, but nothing could prepare her for the morning she stumbles upon her beloved Uncle Lou murdered in her horse's stall. Determined to find his killer, Michaela begins pulling at the threads of his hidden life: a shadowy artificial insemination breeding program, whispered affairs, and unexplained payments to unknown hands. But the deeper she digs, the more dangerous the truth becomes. Even the people she trusts most, her veterinarian and confidant Ethan Slater and her free-spirited roommate Camden, can't be ruled out. And despite the warnings of rugged detective Jude Davis, Michaela refuses to stop. Now the killer has noticed. And she's next. Saddled with Trouble is a propulsive murder mystery woven through with slow-burn romance, set against the sun-scorched backdrop of Southern California horse country. Saddle up for murder, romance, and unexpected twists.
