Summoned (From Smokeless Fire Book 1)

The wrong jinn at the right time Video-game creator Daniel Goldstein prefers coding fantasy quests to living in one. But when his grandmother reaches out from beyond the grave and commands him to summon a powerful jinn to stop a vengeful fallen angel, he does his best--pumpkin-spice candles and all. He ends up with Zahara, who likes her magic flashy, her clothes expensive, and her wishes easy to fulfill. Daniel’s quest is anything but, so Zahara decides to call in a favor from a jinn friend in Morocco. Enter Zaid. Ancient. Devout. Armed. Unreasonably handsome. As mercenaries close in and two fallen angels prepare for war against humanity and each other, Daniel and Zaid find themselves fighting their mutual attraction along with their enemies. When the fallen angel’s dangerously compelling brother enters the conflict, alliances fracture and Zahara is forced to confront a hard truth—love may be the most dangerous magic of all. Summoned, book one of the From Smokeless Fire series, delivers mercenaries, magical contracts, celestial grudges—and Zahara, a jinn who treats apocalypse prep like a fashion week event. At the center stands a reluctant sorcerer and the mesmerizing jinn warrior he can’t stop wanting.
