the human soul. Seventeen-year-old Morgan Blackmore is shattered by the death of her identical twin sister, Claire. But when Claire’s antique Gothic mirror opens a doorway into Mournglass—a frozen realm of ruined castles, dark magic, rebellion, and a ruthless queen—Morgan discovers the impossible. Claire is alive. Imprisoned by Queen Vinterra somewhere deep within Mournglass, Claire may still be saved. Desperate to find her, Morgan crosses into a dangerous world where every new ally, enemy, and trial seems to reflect something hidden within herself. As she encounters the seven vices and seven virtues of the human soul, Morgan is forced to confront the anger, fear, obsession, courage, compassion, and hope she carries within. But the deeper she journeys into Mournglass, the more her mysterious inner light awakens—and so does the shadow buried beneath her grief. Morgan entered Mournglass believing that rescuing Claire would make her whole again. Instead, she must discover that wholeness does not come from reclaiming everything she has lost, but from embracing her light while finding the courage to face the darkness within.
